Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin was born in Wellington, Manitoba. She grew up there. She began her acting career as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and made her stage debut as Flora McGrath when she played the character in The Piano. Flora is the daughter of an Scottish pianist who was mute. They relocated from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century to get married. As a teenager the family relocated from Canadian to United States. Paquin had the role of lead in Fly Away Home in 1996 as well as a brief appearance in the film as Jane Eyre in the film when she was just a young child. Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding and also played a part in the role of Queen Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) as well as the polexia Aphrodisa groupie as part of Almost Famous (2000).
